From Lori Stark, Director of Ramah Day Camp in Wheeling, IL:
YOM TINKERING 2015: RAMAH DAY CAMP
On Wednesday, June 17, Ramah Day Camp became a tech hub as campers engaged with the world of science and technology!
Through the support of J-STEM and the expertise of Robot City, 220 campers spent a full day exploring robotics. Younger campers experimented with building and designing, using a wide variety of construction media. They loved programming and racing motorized Bee robots, building “toothbrush robots,” and they even got to build their own flying saucers!
The older campers were excited to learn about electricity and build snap circuits. They explored motors and generators, building vibrating robots and robotic vehicles. We ended the day with a performance by the Rope Warrior and encouraged campers and their families to check out the Robot Revolution exhibit at Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry. What a fun and special day!
